I will stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning huge earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
