“He took his own life this evening,” announced the head of the Providence police department during a news briefing.

The chief named the deceased man as Claudio Nevis Valenti, a 48-year-old student at Brown University.

This news comes after a major law enforcement presence at a storage facility in Salem, New Hampshire earlier on Thursday. Witnesses described seeing numerous agents in tactical gear entering the premises.
