He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Devastating Shooting

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have taken place in their remembrance.

White House Invitation

The president explained he’s proposed a White House visit for the loved ones of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump told the press. “And likewise with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Public Reaction

Community members came together over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to remember Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been working with the military unit as part of the president’s government program to aid law enforcement in the capital.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“Sarah was the individual that instructors desired. She behaved with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the leader of her previous school, stated to the press. “She was sweet, caring and always willing to assist people.”

Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Legal Measures and Government Revisions

Authorities have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with a charge of murder and charges of violent assault while armed.

The incident prompted the Trump administration to pause refugee claims and halt providing visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, enlisted in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey said on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed the program that she planned to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a law enforcement officer with distinction, per the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had fortitude,” he informed the crowd at the vigil. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to last forever.”
