Ukraine has announced the commencement of mass production for a new domestically developed interceptor drone to strengthen its air defences. Three initial manufacturers have started production, with an additional eleven preparing to establish assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials stated this past Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Battlefield Conditions

The drones will be based on a nationally created system called “Octopus” designed to neutralize Iranian-made drones. This technology underwent testing in actual battle and proved successful “at night, amid electronic warfare and flying low,” the ministry stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of producing up to 1,000 interceptors daily.
